Parent Consultation Services
Sometimes you don’t need ongoing therapy. You need clarity, direction, or a place to think through what’s going on with your child.
Parent consultation sessions are designed to provide focused guidance around a specific concern. These sessions provide space to ask questions, better understand your child’s needs, and develop a clear plan for next steps.
Parent Consultation Might Be Helpful If You Are:
- Wondering whether your child may need therapy, testing, or another type of support
- Trying to understand a new diagnosis and determine next steps
- Unsure how to support a child who is experiencing stress, grief, or major life changes
- Seeking a second opinion regarding treatment recommendations
- Preparing for a school meeting, evaluation, or IEP/504 Plan discussion
- Seeking guidance on what supports to advocate for and how to effectively communicate your child’s needs at school, in healthcare, or within the community
- Looking for guidance on creating routines, incentive systems, or support strategies that fit your child’s developmental needs
- Looking for guidance while waiting for therapy, testing, or specialty services
What to Expect
Consultation services are designed to provide focused guidance around a specific concern and are typically completed within 1 – 3 sessions.
During the initial session, we will:
- Clarify your concerns and priorities
- Identify the specific problem you would like support with
- Establish a realistic goal for our consultation work together
- Offer clinical insight and psychoeducation
- Provide practical, actionable strategies
- Help you determine next steps
Follow-up consultation sessions may address:
- Reviewing progress toward your goal
- Identifying and problem-solving barriers
- Refining strategies and recommendations based on new information
- Supporting implementation of recommendations across home, school, and healthcare settings
- Attendance at meetings (such as school or medical care conferences) to provide education and support child-focused advocacy
Fees & Scheduling
Parent consultation services are focused, time-limited, and designed to help families make meaningful progress toward a specific goal. These services are private-pay and not billed to insurance.
- Initial and follow-up consultation sessions are 60 minutes and billed at $225 per session.
- Attendance at school meetings, medical appointments, care conferences, record review, and other collateral services are billed at $225 per hour, prorated in 15-minute increments.
- Written summaries, letters, and other documentation may be available as an additional service.
- Payment is due at the time of service.
- A 3.15% processing fee is applied to credit card payments.
What Consultation Does Not Include
Parenting consultation is designed to provide education, guidance, problem-solving, and treatment recommendations. These services do not include:
- New diagnoses
- Psychological or diagnostic testing
- Comprehensive evaluations
- Ongoing therapy
- Crisis or emergency services
If additional evaluation or diagnostic clarification appears warranted, appropriate referrals and recommendations will be provided.
